MANAGER OF DEVELOPMENT

Remote, 12- 15hrs per week

The Manager of Development will be tasked with reviewing and improving the fundraising strategy. The position also entails direct fundraising,  grant writing and working with and supporting the senior management team with its fundraising plans. 

 

This position is responsible for all fundraising and development activities. The successful candidate will help forge new relationships to build Recycle Rebuild's visibility, impact, and financial resources. The MoD will also design and implement a comprehensive plan for developing key external alliances by cultivating individual and philanthropic support.

The MoD will have primary responsibility for establishing and implementing the infrastructure needed to grow Recycle Rebuild’s current budget through the solicitation of major gifts, grants, special events, and corporate and foundation support.

You will expand and diversify Recycle Rebuild's donor base and work closely with other team members to secure funding for new initiatives.

Responsibilities

​

  • Actively seek out and apply for relevant grants

  • Develop and execute Recycle Rebuild's annual fundraising plan

  • Secure financial support from individuals, foundations and corporations

  • Creating and executing a strategy for a large sustained base of annual individual donors

  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with major donors and prospects

  • Support and partner with the CEO and board members on all major fundraising initiatives

  • Have primary responsibility for development and execution of all proposals; write and archive all proposals with a long-term relationship-management approach

  • Research funding sources and trends, with foresight, to help position Recycle Rebuild ahead of major funding changes or trends

Qualifications

  • Takes initiative and actively seeks to forge new ones

  • Skilled in creating powerful, compelling written and oral communications for fundraising. Ability to convey complex ideas through brief, simple materials. Experience and credibility when presenting materials to external audiences

  • Gets others to accept ideas by using convincing arguments, creates a win-win situation and responds appropriately to key stakeholders

  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and oral; ability to influence and engage a wide range of donors and build long-term relationships (additional languages a bonus)

  • Skilled at establishing and cultivating strong relationships with peers, across different levels of the organization and externally

  • Flexible and adaptable style; a leader who can positively impact both strategic and tactical fundraising initiatives

  • Ability to work both independently without close oversight, but also a team player who will proactively engage with others at varying levels of seniority within and outside Recycle Rebuild

  • High energy and passion for Recycle Rebuild's mission is essential
